The Social Connection is designed for neurodivergent adults ages 18+ who are ready to build independence, strengthen real-world skills, and engage in structured community experiences. Many of our members are connected to services through a local Regional Center, though we also work with private families. Our program is best suited for adults who benefit from clear expectations, goal-setting, and a supportive yet accountable environment.
-
Each prospective member completes an intake meeting and goal-setting process. We evaluate current skills, interests, and long-term objectives to determine the best track placement. Tracks can evolve as members grow.
-
A typical week depends on which track a member is enrolled in. Activities can range from structured skill-building workshops and employment readiness training to creative arts sessions, leadership development, independent living practice, community outings, volunteer experiences, and real-world job placements. Some tracks focus heavily on workplace preparation and internships, while others emphasize life empowerment, social connection, or creative expression.
Each day is intentional, goal-oriented, and aligned with individualized outcomes — ensuring that every member is building measurable skills while meaningfully engaging with peers and the broader community.
-
Every member enters with individualized goals. We conduct regular check-ins to review progress, reinforce skill development, and adjust objectives as needed. Growth is evaluated through consistent participation, demonstrated skill acquisition, increased independence, and readiness for expanded responsibilities. Our focus is on meaningful, observable progress over time.
-
Employment readiness is woven into all of our program tracks. Members build foundational workplace skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional conduct through daily structured activities and real-world practice.
While every track incorporates elements of vocational development, employment preparation is most heavily emphasized within our Career Pathways Track, where members engage in focused job readiness training, resume building, interview preparation, workplace simulations, and — when appropriate — internships and community partnerships. These experiences provide meaningful real-world exposure and help build confidence, independence, and long-term professional success.
